Shoppers and diners alike made their way to the Escalon United Methodist Church along Jackson Avenue in Escalon on Saturday. Not only did they have a chance to peruse the wide variety of items for sale at the annual Holiday Bazaar staged at the church on Oct. 29, but they could also fill up on a soup, bread and pie luncheon while they were there.
The café did a brisk business for the luncheon and organizers said adding hot apple cider to the menu as a beverage choice seemed to be a big hit with the lunch crowd.
For those searching for holiday gift items, there were handmade crafts, crocheted items, ornaments, picture frames, wood crafts, nativity scenes and more. Also, there was one full wall featuring a display of jams, jellies, relishes and biscotti for sale and the homemade ready-to-bake pies that came in several flavors continued to be a huge drawing card.
The opportunity drawing for a queen-sized quilt saw brisk ticket sales and the happy winner this year was Judy Lopez of Escalon.
