Escalon firefighters are on scene of a large outside fire in the area of Highway 120 and Campbell Avenue. Officials said a controlled burn in the area got out of control and crews were dispatched to the scene about 11:45 a.m. Friday, June 12.

According to officials, there was no immediate threat to structures but smoke from the fire could be seen from several miles away.
