For the 29th year, the Escalon United Methodist Church will host its annual Holiday Bazaar, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31.
Hours for the bazaar are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., so even though the event is on Halloween this year, there will be time for families to attend prior to going out trick-or-treating later on in the day.
A special feature is the Opportunity Quilt Drawing with a queen size quilt being offered. It is based on the theme of America’s 250th Anniversary and tickets are $1 each, six for $5 or 13 for $10. The quilt was made by Jeanette Parsons and Karen Harris and it also includes pillowcases made by Lorraine Nicholson.
A Soup and Pie Luncheon will be available, served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $13 for adults, a child’s lunch for those ages six to nine is $7. Take out lunch available as well as dine in. The lunch includes soup, Genova French bread and a piece of pie.
The famous church Ready-to-Bake Pies will be sold, cost is $17 each, and varieties include apple, apricot, boysenberry, peach, raspberry and strawberry rhubarb.
Church members have been busy preparing handmade crafts and gifts, with items available to include holiday crafts, embroidered dish towels, aprons, wood crafts, jams and jellies, candles, biscotti and more. This is the perfect place to get a head start on the holiday shopping.
