Cornhole, Run, Horseshoes Featured At Fete
Fete Competition
Teams will once again gather for the Park Fete horseshoe tournament, with competition starting at noon on Saturday, July 14.

Along with the parade, carnival rides, food and merchandise booths, the annual Escalon Park Fete celebration also offer some competitive events.

The Escalon Police Department is hosting its fourth annual Cornhole Tournament on Friday evening, July 13 as part of the city’s Park Fete festivities. Limit of 42 teams and you can register from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday evening at a cost of $30 per team if spots are still available.

Competition starts at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome. First place prize is a set of cornhole boards and proceeds from the tournament will support Escalon Police Reserves and Explorer units.

On Saturday, July 14, attendees can start the day by participating in the Escalon Park Fete Run – sign up at Runsignup.com or register that morning starting at 6:30 a.m.; both a two-mile and 10k are offered.

The 10k race takes off at 7:15 a.m.; the two-mile event leaves at 7:30 a.m. and the starting line for both races is at El Portal Middle School on First Street. There will be a number of age divisions for each race and awards and a raffle will be held following the conclusion of the races. Runners will also be treated to post-run refreshments.

Also on Saturday, the traditional horseshoe tournament will be hosted at noon and sign-ups run from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., with a cost of $30 per team. This is a double elimination tournament. For additional information, call 209-505-0386.
