Community Input Sought On SJC Development Title
sjc

The San Joaquin County Community Development Department has begun the process of updating the County’s Development Title and is seeking feedback from its stakeholders, both residents and businesses on their needs and priorities that will shape future growth, and help realize the community’s vision for San Joaquin County as a safe, vibrant, and livable place with a robust local economy.

The Development Title Update project kicked off in May 2020 and officials are now soliciting citizen participation in all phases of the project. The project team will be conducting a detailed evaluation of the Development Title, studying typical types of development projects, discussing technical issues that commonly arise using the current regulations, and making field visits.

As the project progresses, the community will be kept informed through the department’s website and newsletters. There will be opportunities to make your voice heard at public meetings. Also, the Planning Commission will provide direction and feedback to the project team, and the Board of Supervisors will be briefed at key milestones.

Officials anticipate that the Development Title Update will take about one year for the technical work, followed by time for public hearings before the Planning Commission and the Board (May 2020-October 2021).
