Team Captain Meeting

The first official ‘Team Captain’ meeting for the Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County is scheduled for Wednesday evening, May 12 at 6 p.m.

The in-person 24-hour Relay For Life combining the Oakdale/Modesto/Turlock relay events is set for October at John Thurman Field in Modesto. Team captains and any team members interested are encouraged to attend the Zoom meeting on May 12. It is hoped the June team captain meeting can he held in person. AAUW On Zoom

The American Association of University Women, AAUW, Oakdale Riverbank Escalon branch sends selected seventh grade girls yearly from Oakdale, Riverbank, and Escalon to a math and science camp held at CSU Fresno. The community has generously supported the annual fundraiser that finances this program. The 2021 challenge was to convert this valuable hands-on camp into a virtual experience.

Coming up on Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. via Zoom, Dr. Mimi Isaac will give a brief presentation and demonstration of what the campers will experience. Email stucly216@gmail.com for information about membership and joining the Zoom meeting.

 

Sign Up For Summer

Hutton’s Hamlet in Oakdale is welcoming its participants and students back to the theatre this summer. Applications are being accepted now for available two-week plays, open to kids ages, 7-20, no experience or auditions necessary. Weight Loss Support

Members of the local TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, weight loss peer support group are once again meeting on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
