Kringle Market Returns

The Fifth Annual Kris Kringle Market, sponsored by Escalon’s Saron Lutheran Church, is being conducted again this year, albeit in a different format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shopping and purchasing will all be done on-line, beginning on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020. All of your favorite items will be available; including Christmas decorations, the popular food items, and gift ideas for family, friends, and your furry pets. To begin your shopping experience, go to Saronkkm.square.site, and explore the wide variety of holiday ideas. Simply add your purchases to your “Shopping Bag” and pay on-line. Purchases can be picked up in the church parking lot, at 1742 North St., Escalon on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For questions, call the Saron Lutheran Church office, from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon, at 209-838-7695.

 

Women’s Club Meeting

A Fashion Show, featuring stylish women’s clothing provided by Kristine’s Designer Clothing of Oakdale, worn by ladies of the Oakdale Women’s Club (OWC), will be one of the focal points of the group’s next luncheon/meeting to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns Road, Oakdale. Held outside, under a spacious tent, the meeting is scheduled to begin at noon with a meal served by the Country Club staff, cost of which is $16. TOPS Group Gathers

Meetings of the local TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, 1034 chapter are hosted on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar in Oakdale. Members of the group are temporarily meeting outside with social distancing in place. Featuring help with weight loss in a supportive setting, attendees from Oakdale, Riverbank, Escalon and beyond are welcome. Blood Donors Sought

Now more than ever, your blood donation is vital this month and during the ongoing pandemic. As a thanks for helping, donors to the American Red Cross will automatically be entered to win a $1,000 Amazon.com Gift Card when they come to give in October. Five gift cards will be awarded. The Modesto Fixed Blood Donation Site at 1900 W. Orangeburg Ave., Modesto, is open various days and times and Shelter Cove Community Church, 4242 Coffee Road, Modesto, will host a community blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.
