Carpooling, Early Departures Suggested For Bowl Game

A message tweeted out by Escalon High Athletics regarding the NorCal football game on Friday, Dec. 3 urges fans to carpool and start out early. Parking is expected to be extremely limited at the game, which is being hosted at San Rafael High School, 150 Third St., San Rafael. The best recommendation for parking is at 185 Mission Ave., San Rafael, while it is still available.

Parking will also need to be done on the streets surrounding the school, said officials.

It’s roughly a two-hour drive – though likely to include some lengthy Friday afternoon rush hour delays – so again, fans are advised to leave early and carpool. Game time is 7:30 p.m., with the game featuring the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 5 champion Escalon Cougars against the North Coast Section Division 4 champions Marin Catholic Wildcats.

The game is a CIF North NorCal Regional Bowl game in Division 4-AA. Escalon advanced with a 20-13 Section final win over Hilmar; Marin Catholic with a 42-7 victory over Cardinal Newman in the North Coast Section title game.
