Call Goes Out For Artists To Exhibit At VAA Show

Bianchi Community Center in Oakdale will be the site later this month for the 2023 Art Scholarship Fund Exhibition, sponsored by the City of Oakdale and the Valley Art Association.

A call to artists has gone out seeking those artists in region who would like to participate.

Artists entering must be 18 years of age or older and all art must be original work appropriate for general and all ages viewing.

The show itself is scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 24 through 26, at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. A Reception and Awards Presentation is set from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.

There will be ribbons for People’s Choice Award, Artists’ Choice Award and Mayor’s Choice Award.

The free exhibit opens to the public for viewing on Friday, Feb. 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Valley Art Association is a non-profit that has been promoting arts in the community since 1972. Artist entry fees help provide scholarships for local high school students who are planning to attend a school of higher learning majoring in the visual arts.
