California grapes will be included this fall on the menus of Restaurant Associates, one of the largest hospitality companies in the country, according to the California Table Grape Commission. Restaurant Associates provides food to corporate dining, education facilities, and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Restaurant Associates will feature California grapes in snack boxes, grab ‘n go options, and smoothies. New recipes will be developed and basic grape applications, including grape-only snack cups and charcuterie with California grapes, will also be introduced.
California grapes will also be on the menu at Wow Café, a 54-unit, fast-casual restaurant chain found on university campuses, and in hospitals, hotels, and airports around the country. Grapes will be the signature ingredient in an entrée salad as a limited time offer running from Oct. 1 to mid-November. Wow Café has locations in 25 states and Washington, D.C.
The California Table Grape Commission was created by the California legislature in 1967 to increase worldwide demand for fresh California grapes through a variety of research and promotional programs. The fresh California grape season starts in May and runs through January.
