With the arrival of warmer weather, our spring FFA activities are off to an excellent start. Members of the Escalon FFA have been actively participating in various events, proudly representing our school. On Saturday, March 16, Modesto Junior College hosted a field day featuring a range of competitions for our Career Development Event (CDE) teams.
Throughout the day, our teams showcased their knowledge and skills in judging plants, animals, insects, and farm equipment. Escalon’s Poultry, Agronomy, Livestock, Ag Pest, and Farm Power teams all put forth impressive performances.
The Poultry judging team secured first place overall as a team, with Cortney Ball earning first high individual and Kaleia Jones receiving fifth high individual. The Agronomy team also claimed first place, with Wyatt Riesenbeck as first high individual, Hannah Wampler as second high individual, Natalie Giuntoli as fourth high individual, and Trenton Silva as seventh high individual. Our Livestock Judging team placed seventh as a team with Aiden Hohenwarter earning first high individual.
In Ag Pest, our team performed very well, securing second place overall. Special congratulations to Lillian Brasil, who earned second high individual, and Destiny Reyes, who placed eighth high individual. Finally, our Farm Power team placed fourth overall, rounding off a successful day for Escalon FFA.
Congratulations to all the participating teams and individuals who demonstrated the payoff of their hard work and dedication. We can’t wait to see what the future brings!
