Buff Puff, Alumni Teams Take To Volleyball Court

It will be a fun night of volleyball on Friday, May 27.

Escalon High School’s main gym will be the site for several contests, in a fundraiser for the EHS girls volleyball program.

Varsity volleyball head coach Teresa Williamson, who said this evening is one of her favorites of the year, said the action will start at 4 pm., as the sophomore boys take on the junior boys in Buff Puff action. At 5 p.m., it will be the seniors vs. the freshmen, and at 6 p.m. the winners of the first two rounds will square off for the Buff Puff championship.

At 7 p.m., two different alumni teams will face each other across the court, featuring EHS volleyball players from years past.

The winner of that match will get the opportunity to play the varsity volleyball team – the Section title winning varsity team – in the final contest of the night at 8 p.m.

Admission is $5 for those 18 and older; $3 fee for students.

“The volleyball girls are the coaches for the Buff Puff teams,” explained Williamson, with the grade levels having their own coaches, much like the Powder Puff football during the fall.

“They’ve been practicing for the past three weeks,” Williamson added.

All are invited to attend the full schedule of volleyball action; cheer for your favorite alum or Buff Puff player and support the EHS volleyball program.
