It was another pandemic related birthday celebration, a drive by event hosted in honor of longtime Escalon resident Evelyn Swass on Saturday, Aug. 15. The parade of well-wishers drove by as Evelyn, turning 90 years old, sat in her chair outside and waved to those taking part. She received several gifts and virtual hugs; the parade to celebrate the resident and active community volunteer was hosted in the morning before the temperature soared past the 100-degree mark.
