For the 26th year, the Escalon United Methodist Church will be the host site for its annual Holiday Bazaar. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the church, 2000 Jackson Ave., at the corner of Highway 120 and Brayton in Escalon. This is one of the major fundraisers of the year for the church.

There will be a Soup and Pie Luncheon as part of the event served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring soup, Genova French bread, pie and a beverage. Donation is $10 for adults and a half lunch is available at a cost of $5.

At the bazaar itself, shoppers will find holiday crafts, embroidered dish towels, wood crafts, aprons, jams and jellies, homemade candy, biscotti and more. Their famous ready-to-bake pies can be purchased for $15 each. Flavors available will be apple, apricot, blackberry, boysenberry, peach, raspberry and strawberry/rhubarb.

Finally, there will be an Opportunity Quilt Drawing, with church members Karen Harris and Jeanette Parsons creating the quilt. Tickets for the queen size Fields of Lavender quilt will be available at $1 each, six for $5 or 13 tickets for $10; you need not be present to win.

The bazaar offers residents the chance to get a head start on the holiday shopping and features unique items and holiday-themed gift options.
