Get into the spirit of the holiday season with some favorite family films, showing between now and Christmas Eve at The State Theatre, 1307 J St., Modesto.
Friday through Monday, Dec. 21 through 24, families can take time out to enjoy some classics.
On Friday, Dec. 21 films being shown are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 1 p.m.; The Nightmare Before Christmas at 4 p.m.; and Edward Scissorhands at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 22 enjoy the classic Miracle on 34th Street at 1 p.m., followed by A Christmas Story at 4 p.m. and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 7 p.m.
The Polar Express kicks off the Saturday series of films, with a showing at 11 a.m. on Dec. 23, followed by Christmas in Connecticut presented by The Modesto Film Society at 2 p.m. and It’s A Wonderful Life at 5 p.m.
On Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24 enjoy It’s A Wonderful Life at noon and Elf at 3 p.m.
The week between Christmas and New Year’s will feature multiple showings of The Favourite, at noon and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 25; 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows Dec. 26 through Dec. 29; 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. shows on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31.
