Sankofa Theatre Company Presents Unique Stage Play

Join the renowned theater company Sankofa for a family event in recognition of Black History Month. The Steve Harvey National Winner singer, songwriter, producer, actress and director Dee Dee Simon is staging “Coretta: The One-Woman Stage Play” starring Kimberly Smith Chatman. The show is scheduled at the State Theatre in Modesto on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.

The theatre is at 1307 J St., Modesto.

Chatman magnificently brings the life of Coretta Scott King alive for audiences who will marvel at Coretta’s courage, beauty and brilliance. Who was Coretta Scott King? What was it like being married to Martin Luther King? How did she deal with his untimely death? By spending an evening with Chatman, you are sure to fall in love with Coretta Scott King.

Sankofa Theatre Company develops and promotes the cultivation of African American history, life and culture through the performing arts. Tickets are $12, $18 and $22.
