Heavenly Sweet Potato Casserole

Livingston will host its seventh annual Sweet Potato Festival this weekend.

If you like sweet potatoes, this is the event of your dreams. This event definitely pays tribute to the ‘Great Tater.’ The food court has plenty of sweet potato specialty items and there is also a Farmers Market that has a variety of potato-themed items to sell to benefit the local FFA. Whether it’s pies or fries, they have it.

Entry to the festival is free. There is a $5 fee to park. The festival is at Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave., in Livingston. Festival hours are Friday, Sept. 21 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 22 and Sunday, Sept. 23 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

There will be live entertainment, a huge carnival with 25-plus rides and a KidZone that will keep the young ones up to date on sweet potatoes. There will also be a ‘dress your tater’ contest in which Lowes Home Improvement has joined forces with the festival in hopes to have the most sweet potatoes dressed in one picture.
