The Freedom’s Heroes War on Terror outdoor memorial honoring American heroes who died serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan, is returning to Yuba City for an eight-day showing at Calvary Christian Center. The memorial’s 21 panels bear the 6,842 names of all who have died from the beginning of this war through May 3, 2016.
The event will be at the Calvary Christian Center, 2620 Colusa Highway, Yuba City from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Monday, May 30 with a formal Closing Ceremony: set for Monday, May 30 at 3 p.m.
Beale Air Force Base will provide a flyover.
“This memorial provokes strong emotions from people.” said Michael Ciociola, Lead Pastor of Calvary Christian Center, “and by exhibiting the monument and providing a ceremony, our volunteers and community hope people will connect with and remember those who paid for our freedom with their lives in the present War on Terror. They represent you and me. Although they never met the majority of us, they gave their lives for our liberty. They deserve our unending gratitude and commemoration.”
The memorial is for veterans and non-veterans alike, and the public is invited to visit this monument.
