April 28 Wedding Date

Candace Nicole Gray of Oakdale and Kyle Martin ‘Frosty’ Van Houten of Escalon have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and Pamela Gray Jr.

Her siblings are Evan Gray, Sarah (Gary) Acosta, Shane (Tarah) Gray

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin and Tina Van Houten; he has one sibling, Jeffrey (Shannan) Van Houten.

Kyle surprised Candace with a long weekend trip to San Francisco for her birthday last July. He proposed to her at the end of Pier 7 in San Francisco, overlooking the city lights on the night of July 29, 2016. He got the entire proposal on video.

Candace attended Fred C. Beyer High School and graduated with the class of 2001. She obtained a license in Esthetics in 2002 from Adrian’s School of Beauty in Modesto and later attended Modesto Junior College where she studied Business. Candace is currently employed by an insurance firm in Modesto.

Kyle attended Escalon High School and graduated with the class of 2001. He also attended Modesto Junior College and graduated in 2004 with an Associates of Art degree in General Education as well as an Associates of Arts degree in Communications. Kyle later attended University of the Pacific where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Science.

The couple will be married on April 28 of this year at the Escalon Christian Reformed Church with a reception to follow in Modesto. They plan on residing in Escalon after they are wed.
