Hop on over to Modesto Reservoir for a family-friendly day with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as the Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation and Stanislaus County Police Activities League present the Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
The fun, open to all in the area, starts at 11 a.m. with free photos with the Easter Bunny. All children are welcome to have their portraits taken with the bunny and the photos will be available on Modesto Reservoir’s Facebook page. Other attractions include face painting, balloon animals, train rides, sack races, water balloon toss, and many more activities. The first 100 children will receive a free goodie bag of treats. Both KHOP 95.1 and Kat Country will be broadcasting live at the event with upbeat music and lively DJs.
“The Easter Egg Hunt further supports Modesto Reservoir’s mission of providing family-friendly events throughout the year to our community.” said Jami Aggers, director, Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation.
There will be three Easter Egg Hunts to cater to different age groups, with a total of over 6,000 eggs. The Kiddie Egg Hunt for little ones ages 3-5 starts at 12:30 p.m. The Junior Egg Hunt for ages 6-8 follows at 12:45 p.m., and the final Big Kid Egg Hunt for ages 9-11 starts at 1:15 p.m. Each hunt will have special eggs containing golden tickets hidden throughout. Whoever finds the special eggs with the golden ticket will win an Easter Basket filled with prizes.
But the real prize for families is a trip to scenic Modesto Reservoir, and a chance to spend some quality family time out of the house.
“The natural beauty of Modesto Reservoir is a local treasure,” Aggers said. “This Easter Egg Hunt is just a great opportunity for families to get a taste of that beauty, showing them a local attraction they can experience any day of the week.”
Modesto Reservoir is at 18143 Reservoir Road, Waterford.
Admission to the Modesto Reservoir is $10 per vehicle. There is no additional cost to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt or other activities and all are welcome. To preserve the reservoir’s water, no dogs or gasoline containers are allowed at Modesto Reservoir.
