The Calaveras County Arts Council is currently accepting submissions for their post-pandemic Artists In-Person Studio Tour. Artists are invited to open their studios to the public.

This popular event is traditionally held on the third weekend of September and is scheduled this year for Sept. 18 and 19, 2021. The Artists Studio Tour gives artists the opportunity to share their artwork, meet collectors face-to-face, develop relationships with new customers, make sales, secure commissions and share their artistic process and vision with visitors in a personal setting. Artists may also share a location with other participating artists.

Visitors create their own self-guided tour using the printed or downloadable brochure with maps of each artist location. The brochure is free to the public.

The fee for artists to participate in the tour is $85. Arts council membership is included in the fee; all artists will automatically be registered as Calaveras Arts Council members for 2021-2022, giving them the opportunity to participate in gallery shows like Holiday Gifts of Art and the Arts Council’s spring and summer shows.

According to event coordinator and marketer Maggie Sloan, “This is a great deal for the artist. We provide a strong advertising campaign, a full color brochure with maps for the public, and social media support for participating artists.”

The deadline to enter the show and be included in the print advertising is July 30, 2021. Artists can learn about the show and enter online at www.calaverasarts.org, or email ccacinbox@gmail.com for more information.
