The Escalon Youth Cougars, led by Head Coach Milo Alvarado, delivered a season for the record books — the varsity finishing undefeated and winning the MVFL Super Bowl for the second time in just three years. This is not an easy accomplishment, but the varsity coaching staff has been together for quite some time, and these kids have been playing football together for several years, and it definitely showed out there on the field. From the first day of practice until the final play of the Super Bowl, these kids played with heart and never looked back, coaches said. For the eighth graders, their coaches added that “we can’t wait to see what you do out there playing at the next level!”

In the championship game, the varsity Youth Cougars battled to a tough win over the Waterford Sabercats, 32-28.

This year’s varsity team was loaded with talent and toughness, carrying a “Nobody Better” attitude into every game, along with the determination to overcome any opponent and find a way to win. With much of the coaching staff returning next season — along with nearly half of this year’s players — the Youth Cougars are expected to be highly competitive once again and a force to be reckoned with.

The staff includes Milo Alvarado, Zach Morgan, Chad Webster, John Lial, JP Lial, Steve Teixeira, Jeremy Grivette, and Lee Caton.

“We would like to thank the wonderful community here in Escalon for always showing their support, along with all the family members and volunteers of the Youth Cougars who make this possible,” added coaches.
