Young football standout Antonio Brunetti of Escalon had the chance last month to play in the All-American Bowl.
He is 10-years-old and has suited up for the Escalon Youth Cougars football program in the past.
After Brunetti attended a three-day youth football camp through the Offense -Defense program in San Diego this past summer, he was chosen to go on to the All-American Bowl. Staged at NFL stadiums across the country, this year’s bowl game was hosted at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, which is home to the Los Angeles Rams. He was chosen as the starting quarterback for his age group due to his performance at the summer camp.
At SoFi, Brunetti played with young athletes from across the country as well as Europe and Mexico while being coached by former NFL players.
The All-American bowl program ran from Friday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Dec. 29 and consisted of two days of practice and two games, with Brunetti and his teammates playing to a 2-0 record.
The wins were “a great way to cap off the experience,” noted his mom, Melanie Brunetti.
