Lady Cougars take on Section course

Suiting up for one final competition, three Escalon Lady Cougar cross country runners were in action over the weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 15, the cross country trio of girls finished their season at Folsom High School for the Section race.

“The three girls ran on the rain-soaked trails and tough hills of the Willow Hills Reservoir attached to Folsom High,” said head coach Arend Jones.

One runner was in the varsity race, two others in the Junior Varsity competition.

“Junior Victoria Calderon ran faster than last year, finishing the course in 23:22 in the Division 4 varsity girls race,” Jones noted.

Also, junior Amanda Mortenson and senior Cecilia Lechuga finished the same course in the Junior Varsity race with a time of 30:10 and 35:19. respectively.
