Action for youth wrestlers taking part in a tournament hosted in San Andreas featured a couple of gold medal winners.

The Escalon Wrestling Club had a dozen wrestlers take part; the tournament was hosted at Calaveras High School on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Gold medal winners were Maximus Watson, who went 4-0 at 58 pounds in the 6u division; and Keegan Lewellen was also a first-place finisher, earning gold, in the 10u division at 111 pounds.

Second place honors on the day went to Austin Sanchez, 10u, 80 pounds, with a 3-1 record; and Logan Lanza, 12u, 160 pounds.

Coming home with third place medals were Connor Lohman, 99 pounds, 10u; Brody Gentry, 12u, 80 to 85 pounds; Anthony Teicheira, 15u, 95-100 pounds. In fourth place on the afternoon was Cody Gentry, 10u, 70-75 pounds.

Other wrestlers competing were Josiah Freitas and Leonidas Watson, both taking part in the 6u division at 48 pounds; Luke Sanchez, 10u, 70 pounds; and River Vasquez, 10u, 70-75 pounds.
