VIRGINIA MAE (SILBER) LANGUM obit

Virginia Mae (Silber) Langum, 89, of Escalon, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1936, to Kenneth and Catherine Silber.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Glen Langum; her brother, Roger Silber (Judy); and their children: Donna Anderson (Bart), Debbie Rocha (Ron), and Gary Langum (Natalie). She was blessed with four grandchildren: Ryan Calistro (Holliday), Brooke Gildea (Matt), Kristin Camara (Bryan), and Brandt Rocha (Lindsey); and seven great-grandchildren: Rylynn, Luca, and Lane Calistro; Camille Gildea; and Chase and Cole Camara.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Glenda Maisel; her brother, Robert Silber (Linda); and her great-grandson, Caleb Gildea.

At the age of 16, Virginia met the love of her life, Glen Langum, at a church function. The two married on October 15, 1955, becoming the first couple to wed in the Assembly of God Church. They made their home in Escalon, where they raised their family and shared 70 years of marriage.

Virginia especially looked forward to each January, when she and Glen would travel to Arizona and spend three months with their friends in their trailer. During those winters away, Virginia became well known as the “pie lady,” cherished for her fantastic homemade desserts and generous spirit.

Virginia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy of love and warmth will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on December 29 at 11 a.m., Trinity Church Assembly of God, 1900 California Street, Escalon, CA 95320.
