Robert “Bob” Francis Winters, 74, went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022. Bob was born in Stockton on August 21, 1948, to parents Pete and Florence (Smith) Winters. The oldest of two children, he grew up in Ripon on the family farm, where it is still located today. A lifelong member of Immanuel CRC, he also attended Ripon Christian Schools all though elementary and high school. He continued his education at Modesto Junior College followed by Fresno State where he graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in AgriBusiness. Bob was a lifelong farmer of almonds, wine grapes and other permanent crops.

In 1976, he married his beautiful wife, Denese, who he met through his father’s racing activities. They were married for 46 years. Together, Bob and Denese created a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and hospitality – all traits they instilled in their three children.

One of the greatest joys Bob had in life was being a farmer, he enjoyed daily drives around the farm where he would watch the progression of the current crop being grown. Bob had many interests, which included car racing, attending and watching sporting events, going out to eat, and traveling, most notably trips to Hawaii with his family. Everywhere Bob went he made a new friend and left a lasting impression. He always traveled with cans of flavored almonds to share with those he met along the way.

Bob is preceded in death by his daughter Altie Winters Mederos, his parents Pete and Florence, and brother-in-law Ronald Graham. He is survived by his wife Denese, children Ryan (Janay) Winters of Ripon and Nick Winters of Modesto, sister Nancy Graham of Manteca, nephew Jeremy (Krishan) Brouwer of Modesto and son-in-law Scott Mederos of Visalia. He leaves behind four grandchildren; Taryn, Pete, Klaas and Rhilyn, all of Ripon.

Burial will take place at Ripon Cemetery (320 Stockton Ave.) at 9 a.m. on October 12, service at Immanuel CRC (517 Orange Ave.) at 10 a.m., followed by a catered reception.

Memorial donations may be made to Ripon Christian Schools (435 Maple Ave.) or The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research - www.michaeljfox.org/donate.\
