Born in Canton, Ohio on April 24, 1932, Marilyn graduated from Middlebranch High School in Canton, Ohio. She married Herbert E. Switzer, US Army, on January 6, 1951.

For 18 years the family did tours in Fort Campbell KY, West Point NY, Fort Sill OK and Fort Hood TX. The family did two tours to Germany. Her husband retired after 21 years in the Army in 1968. They then settled in California.

She is preceded in death by her husband Herb. Marilyn is survived by her five children; sons Ritchie (Hye Chung), Kenny, and David and daughters Faye and Jackie (Steve). Grandchildren Raymond, Steven, Angela, Andrew, Connie, Nicole, Fallon, Cody, James, Rhiannon, and Ethan. Great Grandchildren Trevor, Jackie, Cooper, Reina, Ragan, Kent, Kennedy, Kensington, Scarlett, Clara, Logan, Oliver and Layla.

At the time of death Marilyn resided in Escalon, CA.

Burial will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
