Judith Colleen Westall (Plummer) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 5, 2025. She was 90 years old. Judith was born on March 16, 1935, in Hasting Hill, Ohio, to John and Virginia Plummer. She grew up in Portsmouth, Ohio, and, as a proud Navy wife, lived across the country before she and her husband James Westall made their home in California’s San Joaquin Valley – first in Stockton, then in Escalon. James and Judith were married for 57 years until his passing.
From the 1970s through the 1990s, Judith served as a teacher’s assistant at El Portal Middle School in Escalon, where her steady presence and kind heart nurtured generations of students. A gifted visual artist, she was especially known for her expressive ceramic work. Judith counted among her greatest joys her vocation as a mother and grandmother and her calling to educate and protect the children entrusted to her care.
Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her nine siblings. She is survived by her four children – Gail Allard, Phil Westall, Mike Westall, and Carla Lund – together with a loving circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Escalon Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Judith Westall Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefiting Escalon High School seniors; inquiries may be directed to Gail at mgcpharmd@aol.com.
She will be dearly missed, yet we rejoice in the sure hope of Christ’s resurrection, trusting that we will one day be reunited where every tear is wiped away and love endures forever.
