Born in San Francisco to Bernie and Dorothy (Thompson) Faist, Dennis spent his elementary years in Georgetown, CA, graduating from Folsom High School after the family moved to Rancho Cordova. Dennis was drafted into the Army, serving in Vietnam. Once home he began farming in Sacramento County.

In the early 1980’s Dennis began working with his cousin Grant at the Thompson Ranch, moving to Collegeville soon after with his family. Dennis served as Chief of the Collegeville Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. He could be found every morning at the Collegeville Store playing cribbage.

Dennis is survived by his wife Maria, his four children, Cindy Rebeiro (Joe), Chris McMorrow (Stew), George Faist (Amy), and Teresa Allbaugh (John), nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
