Trio of festivals on the fall schedule
fest art

Fall is in the air and that means some local festivals aren’t far behind.

Farmington will be the site for a fest on Saturday, Oct. 18; Escalon’s United Methodist Church will host its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 25; and the Saron Lutheran Church has its annual Kris Kringle Market scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.

In Farmington, the EPIC – Everything is Possible In Christ – group that meets at the Farmington United Methodist Church is putting on the Fall Festival, back for a second year.

There will be vendors, local 4-H Clubs, the Farmington Elementary School Parent Teacher Club, Farmington Fire Department and representatives from the Escalon Library all on hand.

Organizers said there will be a costume contest, activities for the whole family, food, opportunity drawings, and the vendors with a wide variety of merchandise.

Hours for the festival are 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 and the event will be set up at Jacob Strojan Park, 25626 Elm St., behind the church.

The inaugural year was very successful in 2024, so Moos said they are hoping to build on that and make this year’s Fall Festival even bigger and better.

Coming up just a week later, members of the Escalon United Methodist Church at 2000 Jackson Ave., will host the annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 25. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there will be a soup and pie luncheon available for $12, along with plenty of merchandise for shopping. The bazaar includes not only handcrafted items but also woodworking pieces, a quilt drawing, ready-to-bake frozen pies, jams and jellies, baked goods and plenty of holiday gift giving ideas. For more information, call the church office at 209-838-2792.

The popular Kris Kringle Market will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St, Escalon. This has traditionally been a stop for those looking to do some holiday shopping, with homemade items, baked goods, candy, jams and jellies, puzzles, ornaments and more all part of the offerings.

There will also be a quilt raffle with tickets available on site; a chili and cornbread luncheon served at a cost of $6 and Santa will stop by for photos and visits. More information is available by calling the church office at 209-838-7695. All donations will support the ministries of Saron Lutheran.
