The Modesto Children’s Museum (MoChiMu) has announced the official theme for its Second Annual Imagination Celebration Gala: MoChiMagic – designed to be a whimsical and enchanted evening unlike any other.
This year’s gala, organizers said, is more than just a night of celebration — it’s a heartfelt tribute to MoChiMu’s second year in the community and the lasting impact it has made on the lives of children and families throughout the Central Valley. From hands-on exhibits to joyful moments of discovery, MoChiMu has sparked imagination, curiosity, and connection in every corner of its space.
Last year’s gala proved just how powerful that impact can be; thanks to the generosity of attendees and sponsors, the museum raised enough to award 64 scholarships to Camp MoChiMu — giving local children the opportunity to experience two years of immersive, playful summer learning.
All proceeds from the gala benefit the museum fund, directly supporting access programs to expand on last year’s scholarships and initiatives.
This year, MoChiMagic invites guests into a dreamscape inspired by nature’s wonder and childlike creativity; a world where enchanted forests bloom indoors, imagination comes to life, and community support makes real magic happen. Expect an unforgettable evening filled with immersive décor, whimsical surprises, and a celebration of creativity in all its forms.
The gala also marks a milestone: MoChiMu’s second anniversary. In just two short years, the museum has become a beloved cornerstone of the Central Valley, offering transformative, hands-on learning experiences for thousands of children and their families.
The Second Annual Imagination Celebration is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Modesto Children’s Museum, 928 11th St., Modesto. Ticket sale dates are still to be announced.
