The Modesto Children’s Museum (MoChiMu) has announced the return of its popular After Dark series with a brand-new theme: Superheroes & Science. This exclusive 18+ event takes place Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and will feature an evening where grown-ups get to play, discover, and unleash their inner superheroes.
As a special thank you to local educators, teachers will receive 50 percent off admission with promo code TEACHER50, valid now through the day of the event.
After Dark is a way of inviting adults to experience the magic of MoChiMu in a playful, no-kids-allowed atmosphere at the Modesto Children’s Museum. This time, they’re blending science and superpowers to celebrate curiosity, creativity — and to give area teachers the fun night they deserve.
Event Highlights Include:
Hands-On Science Demos exploring real-world “superpowers” like levitation, elasticity, and weather control;
Superhero-Themed DIY Stations for crafting masks, capes, and more;
Open Museum Access to explore MoChiMu’s interactive exhibits without the crowds of kids;
Non-alcoholic drinks and light bites available from Save Mart.
MoChiMu After Dark: Superheroes & Science invites community members to reconnect with their sense of wonder while celebrating the start of a new school year. Whether you’re a lifelong science nerd, an art lover, or just looking for a fun night out, this event offers something for everyone — especially teachers.
