As the calendar winds its way toward the end of October, the holiday festivals are looming just around the corner.

First up will be this Saturday’s event, Oct. 25, hosted at the Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave.

The annual Holiday Bazaar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there will be a soup and pie luncheon available as well for $12. The bazaar itself features plenty of merchandise for shopping, especially for those looking to get a head start on the holidays. The offerings typically include handcrafted items, woodworking pieces, a quilt drawing, ready-to-bake frozen pies, jams and jellies, baked goods and plenty of gift giving ideas.
