The Pulse Of Possibility
Stanislaus State marked a historic moment with Britt Rios-Ellis’s investiture as the University’s 13th president during a ceremony Friday, Oct. 3, at the Ed and Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena. The event blended academic tradition with the spirit of the Central Valley, welcoming campus and community members to celebrate Stan State’s mission and future.
“Together we are building something powerful: A University nationally recognized for its quality, value and impact. A University that not only reflects the Central Valley but shapes its future,” President Britt Rios-Ellis said.
Cross Country Running Strong
The Stanislaus State men’s and women’s cross country teams continue to impress through the early portion of the 2025 season. As of the Oct. 1 rankings, the Warrior women are ranked 13th nationally and No. 1 in the West Region according to the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll. Stan State outran four NCAA Division I schools: Sacramento State, UC Davis, Nevada and UC Berkeley. Beating a Division I team is notable for a Division II program; beating four in a single race underscores the Warriors’ national caliber.
Best Value In National Rankings
Stanislaus State earned top marks in the Wall Street Journal’s Best Colleges in the U.S. list, placing No. 4 in the nation for social mobility, No. 14 for best value and No. 21 overall among 584 eligible institutions. The University is one of only eight public colleges in the top 25 nationwide and the second-highest ranked California State University campus on the list.
