Community-Engaged Learning

Students at Stanislaus State are gaining hands-on experience through long-term partnerships with schools, nonprofits and public agencies across the Central Valley - work that generated an estimated $5.39 million in local economic impact last year alone. The approach was recently reaffirmed through the University’s renewal of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Community Engagement Classification, a national designation held by approximately 230 universities nationwide.

Passing The Bar

Two Stanislaus State alumni from the Class of 2022, Lindy Munoz and Priyanka Sen, passed the California Bar Examination on their first attempt in the same session, a rare milestone their professor says he’s never seen in 10 years at the University. The achievement highlights Stan State’s pre-law pathway and hands-on mentoring, with both graduates now practicing law in Northern California; Munoz in personal injury and Sen in intellectual property and patent law.

Stockton Campus Leaders

Leadership from Stanislaus State is featured in the inaugural National Association of Branch Campus Administrators Journal, with a lead article examining the Stockton Campus and its mission-driven, community-engaged model. Co-authored by Stockton Campus leaders Sarah Sweitzer, Matthew Derrick and Amy McKinney, the piece highlights research-informed practices shaping branch campus leadership nationwide.
