Escalon’s First Baptist Church was the site of a blood drive on Thursday, Nov. 12, the first time the local church has hosted one in cooperation with the American Red Cross. Here, Manteca resident Warren Nickols is preparing to give a donation, as staffer Darlene Valdez checks to make sure everything is in order. Pastor Dale Pederson said the effort brought in 18 units of blood and they are hoping to host another blood drive in January. “Overall, they were pretty pleased with it, since it was our first one ever,” said Pederson.
