Members of the Escalon Planning Commission will host a public hearing at their meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to review a proposed housing development at the southeast corner of Brennan Avenue and Highway 120.
The commission meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers in City Hall, 2060 McHenry Ave.
The applicant is asking for approval of, according to the Notice of Public Hearing, “an Annexation, Pre-Zoning, Tentative Subdivision Map, Specific Plan, Planned Development, Development Agreement, and Inclusionary Housing Agreement to develop approximately 18 acres into a 73-lot single-family housing subdivision”. The project is also scheduled to include “underground utilities, street improvements and expansion of an adjacent existing park.”
The project, officials said, has conducted an initial study, mitigated negative declaration, and mitigation monitoring and reporting plan, in accordance with CEQA guidelines.
Anyone interested in learning more about the proposed project or with comments for or against the proposal is encouraged to attend the Oct. 14 session. Public comment and any questions on the project can be submitted by contacting the city’s Development Services at 209-691-7430 or they can be submitted by email by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at deservices@cityofescalon.org
The Planning Commission, after it makes its determination to recommend approval or rejection of the proposal, then refers it on to the City Council for further review and possible action.
