All gardening enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the next Oakdale Garden Club meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m.

The meeting will be hosted at the Community United Methodist Church social hall, 1480 Poplar St., Oakdale. The guest speaker will be Dirk Swanson, VP Ace Hardware, which has multiple locations around the area. He will talk about the new expansion in the Oakdale store. There will also be discussion and a report about the Oakdale Garden Club’s recent annual Autumn Garden Tour fundraiser.

“It was a very successful Garden Tour of five local gardens around town. We sold over 325 tickets to the event,” said Garden Club member Nancy Podolsky.

The gardens were open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Oct. 4 event, allowing attendees to visit each site at their own pace.

“All the gardens had some sort of water feature from a pool, Koi pond, to a simple fountain,” Podolsky added.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Oct. 21 meeting of the Oakdale Garden Club and get involved both with the club and the projects they take on in the community. The meeting invitation also includes the chance to come a little early to enjoy coffee, treats, and chat with other members.
