Saturday, April 30 is the date for the 2022 edition of Love Escalon, with the community work day being put together through the Escalon Chamber of Commerce.

Hours are 8 a.m. to noon and volunteers are being sought for a number of projects around the city.

Love Escalon, Chamber officials said, will kick off at the Main Street Park stage with a rally for all participants at 8 a.m.

From there, they will move on to the individual project locations in the community and organizers said they are planning to make this a family-friendly atmosphere for the kick-off, getting participants energized and ready for a morning of service work.

There will be free refreshments along with free kids activities hosted at Happy Artists Studio during the day as well.

“We are honored to facilitate this movement where our entire community works together to practically serve and make a difference in our city,” Chamber officials noted.

Families, businesses, members of local churches … all are welcome to take part in the effort. Projects in the past have ranged from doing yard work for the elderly to helping clean at the Historical Society Museum, sprucing up community parks, washing school buses and more.
