Lawmakers this past week approved a bill by Sen. Tom Berryhill of Modesto, which would give much-needed assistance to disabled veterans in California. SB 330, which was approved unanimously in both chambers of the Legislature, will ease construction costs for disabled veterans by allowing local governments to waive or reduce building permit fees for home improvements related to veterans' service-connected disabilities. “I am forever grateful for the brave men and women who risk their lives for our freedom,” Berryhill said.
