Glen and Virginia (Silber) Langum celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 15, 2025.

The couple met at age 16 during a church function and were married on Oct. 15, 1955, becoming the first couple wed in the Assembly of God Church. Their honeymoon was spent at Disneyland, which had just opened that same year.

They have lived in Escalon throughout their married life. In 1976, they purchased Escalon Tire, where Glen had worked for 20 years before buying the business from John Reichenberg. Today, Glen and their son Gary continue to own and operate Escalon Tire, proudly serving the community for nearly five decades.

Their family includes four children — Glenda Maisel (Rick), Donna Anderson (Bart), Debbie Rocha (Ron), and Gary Langum (Natalie) — and four grandchildren: Ryan Calistro (Holliday), Brooke Gildea (Matt), Kristin Camera (Brian), and Brandt Rocha (Lindsey). They are also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Rylynn, Luca, and Lane Calistro; Caleb and Camille Gildea; and Chase and Cole Camera.

Glen and Virginia have enjoyed many travels together, including trips to Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Italy, and France, and celebrated their 59th anniversary with dinner atop the Eiffel Tower.
