A pair of wins on the home court this past week has earned Escalon’s varsity basketball girls a long road trip.
Set to tip off in the NorCal Division 5 regional semifinals, Escalon will face the top seed Modoc Braves of Modoc High School in Alturas. The Braves have an overall record of 24-5; Escalon comes in at 27-6 and this past week defeated number 13 Healdsburg 56-37 on Tuesday, March 3 and then took care of number five seed Durham on Thursday night, March 5 by a 48-37 decision.
Modoc had a first round bye, then defeated number nine seed Marin Academy 53-44 on Thursday.
Escalon and Modoc will battle it out for a spot in the Tuesday, March 10 northern region finals. There, the winner of Saturday night’s semifinal game will face the winner of the number 2 John Adams Academy – El Dorado Hills and number six Woodland Christian match up.
The state championship game is scheduled for Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m. at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
