All those in the area interested in helping out at the Nature Center in Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park, Stockton, are encouraged to take part in the upcoming Native Plant Trail and Village Work Day. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16; hours are 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and those planning to attend are asked to RSVP under “Events” on the Nature Center’s Facebook page or email oakgrovenaturecenter@gmail.com
Adults must be present with minors. No pets, please. Help keep the trail weeded and trimmed and work to prepare the Pollinator Garden for fall planting.
Bring gloves and small hand tools if you have them available; tools should be labeled with your name and phone number. Wear closed-toed shoes; use of sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended.
The volunteer program is offered through San Joaquin County Parks.
