Californians competing for Team USA at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy, have brought home five medals, highlighting the state’s continued presence on the international winter sports stage.

Athletes from communities including Oakland, Torrance, Redondo Beach and Eastvale contributed to Team USA’s medal count.

Alysa Liu of Oakland won two gold medals in figure skating. Liu delivered a performance that helped secure Team USA’s position atop the podium.

Chloe Kim of Torrance earned a silver medal in the women’s snowboard halfpipe final. The three-time Olympian added another medal to her career résumé with her performance in Italy.

Madison Chock of Redondo Beach captured silver in Olympic ice dance alongside her partner and husband, Evan Bates.

Cayla Barnes of Eastvale helped lead the United States women’s hockey team to a gold medal victory over Canada in overtime.

In addition to medalists, numerous Californians represented Team USA across Olympic events.

The Paralympic Games are scheduled for March 6 through March 15 in Milano Cortina.

Two Californians are set to compete in the Paralympics.

Jen Lee of Daly City, a three-time Paralympic gold medalist, will compete in sled hockey as part of Team USA.

Kate Delson of San Diego will compete in para snowboarding as the youngest member of Team USA’s para snowboard team.
