FESTIVE EVENING
sr dinner

About 60 senior citizens were in attendance for the Friday night Escalon Rotary Club holiday dinner of lasagna, salad and cookies plus a few other items brought by guests and members. There was a raffle of about 20 items provided by club members and local businesses, with an attendee here receiving a raffle item, plus everyone went home with a bag of food items and assorted toiletries and small gifts, courtesy of local businesses. Mar Val Market provided the lasagnas this year and the Rotary also received a grant from the United Methodist Church to help with expenses. Club President Diane Alcorn and volunteers handled the cooking duties and club members Duane Lovett and Mark Buenafe, the new Methodist minister, led the singing of Christmas carols accompanied by Mary Panero. The dinner was hosted at Escalon United Methodist Church.
