Scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m., Escalon Strong is hosting an unveiling of the Community Garden expansion, at 2149 Jackson Ave., Escalon.
Improvements have been made at the site, along with the addition of some new features, and the community is invited to attend the Dec. 4 celebration.
A project of Escalon Strong, the community garden provides garden plots to grow in, offered at reasonable prices for rental throughout the year. There are also workshops and planting days hosted, fresh produce swaps and family friendly events. They have worked in cooperation with the Escalon-Farmington Community Garden Club members on the project. Escalon Strong officials offered special thanks to the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Jackson Avenue for allowing the use of their land for the garden.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting your hands dirty for the first time, event organizers said the community garden is the perfect place to dig into something new.
