Escalon 4-H members have great State Fair

Closing out a successful season of fair participation, Escalon 4-H had a few members participate at the California State Fair 2025 in late summer. Following are the results, as provided by club officials.

 

Sheep

Market: Mikayla Buck - 5th place in market class and 11th place in Showmanship.

Breeding: Mikayla Buck - weather dams 4th place and 6th place in classes.

Registered Dorsets - 1st place yearling ewe, 5th place fall ewe lamb and 1st place Best Pair Ewes.

Briley Silva - weather dams 6th and 7th place in classes.

 

Breeding Rabbits

Mikayla Buck - 1st place in class and 9th place in class (big class).

 

Poultry

Ean Williams - 1 Best Large Game Bird - pearl Guinea Hen; 1 Best of Breed - Sebright Cock; 3 Best of Variety Americana’s Self Blue, Brown Red, and d’Uccle self-Blue pullets; 1 Reserve Best of Variety - Lavender pied Guinea hen; 2nd place d’Uccle Millie Fleur hen; 5th place d’Uccle Millie Fleur cock.

 

Dog Show

Mikayla Buck & Violet - Obedience Sub C – 1st place; Rally 3rd place; Showmanship - 2nd in Junior Novice.

Ean Williams & Whiskey - Obedience Sub C – 3rd place; Rally 1st place novice; Showmanship 5th place novice.

Ean Williams won the Golden Bear award for overall high point in Rally (which is the highest award you can earn at State Fair)

 

Champion Challenge

Briley and Trenton Silva both competed in and made it to the second round.
