The next electronic waste recycling day for residents will be offered at the Escalon Community Center on April 12.

The next opportunity for Escalon residents to dispose of their electronic waste is just around the corner, scheduled for Sunday, April 12.

Hours for the event will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the disposal will be hosted at the Escalon Community Center, 1055 Escalon Ave.; there is no charge for residents to utilize the drop off program.

The acceptable E-Waste items that can be dropped off are printers, telephones, fax machines, cell phones, televisions, computer monitors, radios and stereos, microwaves, fluorescent lights and batteries, except for car batteries.

In other upcoming events, Youth Soccer sign ups are available online, running April 1 through May 25; open to youngsters ages three to 17. Games will begin in early August and run through the end of September. Adult Soccer, co-ed, for ages 18 and up, is a new program that anticipates a start date soon, offering at least eight regular season games, with both weekend and evening competition.

As a reminder, the Escalon City Council meetings scheduled in April are set for Monday, April 6 and Monday, April 20 with a 7 p.m. start time for the sessions, held in the Escalon City Council Chambers at 2060 McHenry Ave.; the next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
