Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Escalon’s Cromwell & Ney Insurance a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its partnership with Escalon Strong, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life in San Joaquin County by supporting individuals through programs that promote independence, food security, and community wellness. This recognition includes a $5,000 donation to Escalon Strong, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online support from the community.
Starting Monday, July 7, the Cromwell & Ney and Escalon Strong story will be featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/cromwell-ney-insurance/, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the story receives at least 500 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be increased to $10,000. The funds will help cover fuel and utility costs to support food delivery and storage across the county, expand the community garden, and provide maintenance equipment for recreation programs.
“Every action, big or small, reflects our belief that meaningful change starts at the local level,” said Megan McNinch, Account Manager at Cromwell & Ney Insurance. “When we helped launch the food drive for The Giving Pantry, a customer shared how the pantry helped her mother during tough times and thanked us for bringing the community together. That moment reminded us why we get involved — to connect with people, uplift our neighbors and help build a stronger, more connected Escalon.”
Cromwell & Ney’s support of Escalon Strong runs deep. Employees volunteer year-round, helping sort pantry inventory and organizing community fundraising campaigns. The agency also promotes garden boxes and donates homegrown plants to the nonprofit’s community garden. Most recently, the team partnered with local businesses to launch a food drive, providing donation tubs and marketing kits to boost participation and ensure collected items reached those in need.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Tamara Adams, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Cromwell & Ney Insurance is an outstanding example of how agencies can make a real difference, and we hope sharing their story inspires others to give back as well.”
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
“We’re so proud of Megan for nominating Escalon Strong for the Make More Happen Award,” said Amie Ney Conde, Owner, Cromwell & Ney Insurance Agency. “At Cromwell & Ney, we’re all about supporting our community, and Escalon Strong is a perfect example of what makes this town so special. We’re honored to be part of it.”
